KK’s Profile: KrishnaKumar Kunnath popularly known as KK, K.K, Kay kay is a singer in multiple languages. He sings in Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada Films. KK was born in Tiruchur brought up in Delhi. Kishore kumar is his inspiration. KK had a eight months experience as marketing executive in the hotel industry. KK graduated from Kirori Mal College, Delhi University in commerce. After few years, in 1994, he moved to Mumbai. He is truly the next generation Kishore Kumar. With no formal training in singing, he still stands tall among all the other talented playback singers of Bollywood.
Career:
His debut album “Pal” was in 1999. This album received Star Screen Award as Best solo Album.
His second album was after 9 years in 2008 “Humsafar”
His first break as playback singer in Bollywood was the song ‘Chhod Aaye Hum Woh Galiya’ from film ‘Maachis (1996)‘.
The song which established K.K. as a prominent singer was ‘Tadap Tadap Ke Is Dil’ from ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999)‘. It was one of the biggest hits of his career.
After that song K.K. got lots of offers. Till now K.K. had sung more than 3,500 jingles. K.K. also had sung title tracks of some TV serials like Just Mohabbat and Hip Hip Hurray.
K. also appeared as a judge to a Sony TV’s reality talent show ‘Fame Gurukul’ in 2005.
In 2013, KK sang for an international album, Rise Up – Colors of Peace, which consists of songs written by Turkish poet Fetullah Gulen and sung by artists from 12 countries. KK recorded a song named “Rose of My Heart” for the album.
In 2010, the Indi Band “BANDISH” produced their second self-titled album.
The album has a high energy track in the album Tere Bin — a rock ballad sung by KK. Drummer Chris Powell said “Even though he is a playback singer, he is a true rockstar in his heart”
Personal life:
KK married his childhood sweetheart Jyothy Krishna in 1991
Their son Nakul sang a song “Masti” from his latest album Humsafar with him.
